Our Founding Vision

Welcome to Claritas Classical Academy, affectionately known as Claritas. Our journey began in 2012 when a close-knit group of friends and families united with a shared vision: to create an educational experience that married the principles of classical education with a sense of community and individuality. The guiding question was not just "What is Claritas Classical Academy?" but "Why Claritas Classical Academy?" From diverse backgrounds, geographical origins, and religious affiliations, we were fueled by a profound connection and a resolute commitment to classical education. Our aim was to establish a hybrid program that embraced both rigor and grace, offering the freedom to tailor education according to each student's unique path.

Our Journey

Navigating the early years, we experimented with various Latin and science curricula, refining our identity and aspirations. With a strong sense of community but limited resources, Claritas Publishing emerged. Initially crafting memory work for our community, especially for grammar-stage students, our approach resonated so well that we expanded our offerings. By 2016, our online store featured our memory work curriculum and the acclaimed English grammar program, Fundamental Grammar. Our online journey has been a source of inspiration, with customers championing our materials. While we don't claim to be the ultimate classical homeschooling curriculum, we provide valuable tools for educational endeavors, believing in the intrinsic rewards of the learning journey.

Centered on Community

Claritas Publishing, a non-profit, supports Claritas Classical Academy by funding scholarships and aiding families. The majority of our online proceeds go back to the community, also supporting our dedicated tutors. Our team, far from being a profit-driven corporation, is united by a mission to empower both our local and online communities. With a team often contributing voluntarily and a mission centered on serving our communities, we cherish the partnership we share with you.
